Abstract: 

The study purpose to develop managerial competency model in Isfahan Province Gas Company. Semi-structured interviews and Managerial Competencies Questionnaire were conducted with 15 managers selected purposefully (maximum variation sampling) from among the different levels of management in Isfahan Gas Company. Also, Gas monthly magazine (Nedaye Gas), job description of managers, web sites of National Iranian Gas Company and thirty provinces studied. Then concepts were collected and categorized into 8 main categories and 78 sub categories. Finally، reliability and validity of model accepted.

Abstract: 

Introduction: Nursing managers play a key role in healthcare organizations. The effective execution of nursing managers' roles is influenced by various factors, including managerial competence. In today's complex organizations, determining the level of competence of head nurses is essential for improving their performance. Methods: This research was a descriptive cross-sectional study. A total of 150 head nurses working in hospitals affiliated with Iran University of Medical Sciences participated in the study in 2024, utilizing a census sampling method. The data collection tools included a demographic information form and the nursing managerial competence assessment questionnaire developed by Moghadam et al. (2019). Data were analyzed using SPSS version 26, applying both descriptive and inferential statistics. Results: The mean and standard deviation of the age of the participants in the research was )42.53±5.24( years. The average managerial competence of head nurses was reported at a high level (330.05±37.04) through self-evaluation. Among them, the organizational domain had the highest average (4.36) and the problem-solving domain (4.11) had the lowest average. There was a statistically significant relationship between the managerial competence of supervisors and passing the management course (p=0.042). Conclusion: Head nurses in the hospitals of Iran University of Medical Sciences exhibit a high level of managerial competencies. The results indicate that participation in managerial training programs positively impacts the enhancement of managerial competencies among head nurses, particularly in the organizing domain. The role of managers is significantly important among the various factors contributing to organizational success. To develop an effective and efficient management system, it is essential to have competent and capable managers. Understanding the strengths and weaknesses in each dimension of managerial competence can empower head nurses to strengthen their capabilities, address weaknesses, and ultimately improve the quality of nursing services.

یکی از ویژگی های بارز آموزش پزشکی، لزوم یادگیری مهارت های عملی و ارتباطی در کنار آموزش های نظری و دانش تئوریک می باشد. پرورش مهارت های بالینی، عنصر پایه آموزش پزشکی و بخش مهمی از برنامه های محوری کلیه، دانشکده های پزشکی را تشکیل می دهد. کلیه دانشجویان پزشکی می بایست مهارت هایی را که برای آینده حرفه ای خود به آن نیاز دارند مانند مهارت گرفتن شرح حال، معاینه فیزیکی، مهارت های ارتباطی، تشخیصی و درمانی، مهارت های مدیریتی در زمینه های بهداشتی درمانی، طبابت مبتنی بر شواهد، توانایی استدلال و تصمیم گیری بالینی، کار تیمی، توانایی سرپرستی تیم بهداشتی و نیز توانایی مراقبت از بیماران را به نحو احسن آموخته، در عمل به کار گیرند.

Abstract: 

This study aims to design a causal business management competency model for managerial jobs of Ansar Bank. This study uses a descriptive-survey method in which 150 Ansar Bank managers were sampled by purposive sampling and then studied in 2012. Data collection was made by a researcher-made questionnaire. The instrument validity was assessed and verified based on the comments of university professors who were dealing with the subject of this study, while taking advantage of principal component analysis method and latent variables measurement fitting using confirmatory factor analysis. The reliability was measured by Cronbach’s alpha which revealed a reliability of (R=864%), and as it can be claimed the instrument enjoys a good reliability. To test the hypotheses of this research, structural equation modeling was used. The results verify all primary and secondary hypotheses of this study and reveal the effectiveness of competencies included in Business Management Competency Model for Managerial Jobs of Ansar Bank. The variable of customer orientation enjoys the highest level of effectiveness. In other words, it enjoys the most significant relationship with business management and afterwards the variables of communications, modifications, resource management come respectively.

Abstract: 

Background: The health system in Iran faces specific challenges as the managerial role of head nurses have changed. The importance of this role cannot be underestimated for the healthcare organizations’ success. The present study was conducted to explore the meaning of managerial competence of head nurses in intensive care units (ICU) in Iran. Materials and Methods: This study used a qualitative approach. We extracted the lived experience of ten Iranian ICU head nurses. Data were collected through unstructured in‑ depth interviews from 2014 to 2015. Interviews were recorded and transcribed verbatim and were interpreted using Van Manen’ s six‑ step approach. Results: The expansion and clustering of 442 initial themes led to the emergence of 35 secondary themes, nine subthemes, and three main themes. Managerial competence – theme included “ self‑ excellence, ” “ ward excellence, ” and “ intensive care excellence. ” Conclusions: The “ managerial competence of ICU head nurses” is a dynamic concept that reflects the psychological and functional capability of head nurses in contributing towards excellence in their own critical care practice as well as that of the ward. A competent head nurse has outstanding personal and nursing attributes and holistic knowledge, and is also committed to the ongoing professional improvement of him/herself. Using their ability to facilitate interpersonal and interprofessional communication effectively, a head nurse seeks the psychological, physical, and human optimization of the ward in which he/she works. Therefore, the goal of providing insightful critical care through smart organization and planning of nurses and other personnel can be achieved.
